John Rock's Green Responsibility Policy

It’s all about integrity.

At John Rock, we conduct ourselves with integrity in all we do – that includes our environmental stance. Our Green Responsibility Policy has four facets:

First: Pallets are the number one use for low-grade lumber. We make pallets using the Cant, or the core of the tree, and other boards that are rejected by many other industries.

Second: All of our imported wood comes completely from plantation-grown trees. We’re not getting any wood from the rainforest.

Third: We are dedicated to reforestation and responsible forestation. We only buy from responsible sawmills. We’re proactive in getting it right.

No wood is ever wasted. We recycle, repair, reuse and remanufacture until every bit of use has been gotten out of every piece of wood. Reclaim bins are at every station in our facility to make sure we get the most out of every foot of wood that we receive.

John Rock Inc has installed it’s second heat treating kiln. This more than doubles our heat treating capacity to upwards of 10,000 pallets per shift.

This past fall, John Rock opened a new manufacturing facility in Sadsburyville, PA. The grand opening was held on November 23, 2004 to great fanfare.
