"America's Premier Pallet Manufacturer"
Our Products
Quality wooden pallets, skids and crates are essential pieces of the product protection, warehousing, transportation puzzle. Created to protect your load, these products also provide for enlarged storage
volume in warehouse racking systems saving you valuable space. Pallets, skids or crates can be
two-way and four-way entry, letting you warehouse and move your products around safely and easily.
John Rock has decades of experience providing America the best choice in cost-effective shipping and storage systems solutions for manufactured products anywhere.
John Rock uses PDS© (Pallet Design Software) developed by the NWPCA and Virginia Tech to design
the pallet that will meet your needs. First, your detailed descriptions of the actual unit load and materials handling conditions are entered and then PDS© accurately predicts the pallet's safe load capacity and service life. John Rock and PDS© will engineer the best and most cost effective pallet for your specific needs.

Stringer Pallets / GMA Pallets / Warehouse Pallets
The stringer pallet is the most commonly used pallet in the United States. Stringer Pallets can be made
to any size to match your specific needs. Depending on the application, there are partial 4-way entry pallets and 2-way entry pallets, referring to the sides you enter it from with a forklift.
The most common size stringer pallet produced nationally is the 48” X 40”, often called a “GMA”,
“48 x 40 GMA” or even “Warehouse Pallet”. These pallets are constructed in accordance with the guidelines drafted by Grocery Manufacturers of America.

Heat Treated Pallets / ISPM 15 Compliant Pallets / Export Pallets
If you ship your products outside the US, the pallets you use will be required to comply with the International Phytosanitary Measure known as ISPM 15. Compliance involves “Heat Treating” pallets to reduce the risk of introduction and/or spread of quarantined pests. The John Rock facilities have the two largest heat treatment sterilizers in the country. They are poised to handle even the largest pallet users needs quickly and efficiently. You can rest assured that John Rock stands ready to handle whatever your needs are.
ISPM 15 is an
ISPM 15 developed by the IPPC that directly addresses the need to treat wood materials of a thickness greater than 6mm, used to ship products between countries. It affects all wood packaging material (pallets, crates, dunnages, etc)requiring that they be treated with heat or fumigated with methyl bromide and marked, often branded, with a seal of compliance. This seal of compliance is colloquially known as the "bug stamp." Products exempt from the ISPM 15 are made from alternative material, like paper, plastic or manufactured wood products (eg. plywood)
IPPC: “The International Plant Protection Convention” is a multilateral treaty to harmonize regulations governing those imports that could impact the physical condition of forest and crops. The IPPC
(now 134 different countries) adopted voluntary compliance standards in 2003.
FAO: “The Food & Agriculture Organization” has ultimate oversight of the treaty.
APHIS “The U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service” has oversight of compliance of the
standard within the USA.
ALSC “The American Lumber Standards Committee” has been selected by APHIS as the manager of
this program in the USA.
Timber Products Inc. as approved and monitored by ALSC inspects and certifies monthly The Heat Treatment Process and Services performed at John Rock Inc.
Recycled Pallets / Used Pallets / Remanufactured Pallets
Choosing wooden pallets has been shown to be the “Green Choice”. A properly constructed wood
pallet has a useful life far beyond its initial trip. Many pallets are used many times, repaired, and used again many times. The John Rock team has many years of experience Recovering, Reusing, Repairing
and Recycling used pallets with a conscious eye toward protecting our natural resources, giving their customers not only cost effective but also environmentally conscious solutions.
Block Pallets
Block or Post pallets represent another shipping alternative from the wooden pallet industry. Although Block Pallets offer different design and pricing considerations compared to the more plentiful industry standard Stringer Pallet, they can at times provide options that are necessary to accomplish unique specific requirements. Block pallets can be partial or full four-way entry, often constructed with 4-12
blocks as support for the top deck boards or mat. Whatever your specific requirements are, John Rock stands ready to successfully satisfy your pallet needs, efficiently & cost effectively.
Custom Pallets / Custom Skids / Custom Crates
Deciding how to best package, store and ship your product can be a difficult task, especially if you are unaware of all the considerations that are necessary. Unique challenges in product weight, shape, dimension, shipping requirements, racking requirements, customer requirements etc. complicate the
maze you will need to navigate to accomplish your task. Often Wooden Pallet Professionals are the
only ones poised to analyze the wide spectrum of considerations required to design the safest, most
cost-effective solution. John Rock has the necessary experience, resources and tools to Custom design and build Pallets, Skid and Crates, perfectly matched to your specific requirements.
